September 11th 2016 - Day 1410

This morning I headed out to shibuya to meet up with my girlfriend, and together to two of us went to watch a very original, very unheard of film, which in english is called "The Cats of Mirikitani" - it is a documentary type film, about a woman in America who meet a homeless artist in New York, and she learns his life story about how he was forced into a Japanese internment camp during WW2, and how he lost his citizenship and everything, and the Woman helps bring him back from homelessness and helps him get onto his feet. Its a stunningly beautiful film, not because of how well it was made but because of the story it portrays and the fact that it is all real. If anyone can find a copy I highly recommend it, it is absolutely worth a watch (and its in english with Japanese subtitles).
After the film we went for a wander around Shibuya and Harajuku, stopping for lunch at the most unusual little cafe. To say we wandered down the rabbit hole would be an accurate guess - because it was an Alice in Wonderland themed restaurant. There was even an Alice in Wonderland themed store not far from there that was also interesting to look around.
After that we spent a quiet afternoon together at my place, well quiet for her while I got on with my various Sunday afternoon chores, but it was a lovely day all the same, right up until she had to go home for the night.
