November 25th 2012 - Day 80

In spite of my physical pains from yesterday, I left the apartment and braved the pleasantly bright, yet bone bitingly cold weather to go to a very important event that I would have regretted forever had I missed - The Gotanda Meat Festival. In the Area of Tokyo called Gotanda, there was a meat festival. A Festival of Meat. A day where, depending on your wallet funds, you can go and spend your day eating as much of every kind of Meat imaginable. Best Festival Idea EVER!!!
It couldn't be called a big festival, but they had almost every kind of Japanese meat imaginable there - Nikuman (meat buns), Yakisoba, Yakitori, Steaks and all kinds of other meats I couldn't read the names of. There was even a chance to eat some (apparently) famous Fukushima meat, but I passed on this because the sight of the queue made me dizzy, especially at the thought of waiting through it in that freezing cold. So I stuck with checking out the various stalls and getting my chow on with all the meats that looked best.
Not only was there enough meat (and beer, forgot that part) to satisfy a college frat house, but there was a display/have-a-go kick boxing going on, a guy in a hero suit going around, and belly dancers (well technically there were a troupe of female dancers with various performances on during the day, but I only saw the belly dancers....Purely by accident). But as I said, it wasn't a very big festival, and there is sadly only so much meat one can eat. So after a couple of hours I headed back.
Not much more of excitement the rest of the day. Finished the laundry, watched some TV, got my stuff ready for tomorrows work, and taking one last chance to look around Akihabara before officially ending my shopping spree weekend. Although something tells me that this year, I may have a harder time sticking to that plan.
