November 24th 2012 - Day 79

After the full on day of yesterday, I took today a little easier - by which I mean I went to the gym first thing. Same gym as before so not much new to say about that, but they do have a problem with me renting their indoor shoes again so I will either have to buy another pair of shoes just for the gym, or save money and just stick to running. Decisions Decisions.
After getting back and showering, I had to go out to the near by super store to get a couple of bits I forgot from yesterday, and hit up the arcade and gachapon house (its still the weekend so that's ok).
The rest of the day was fairly ordinary. I did the laundry, got some computer sorting done, and decorated my tree (for my reasons why, see my previous post).
Then at around 5.40 I headed out towards a new kendo dojo the man who looks after me here had told me about. In order to get there I had to navigate my way across two trains and Shinjuku station (which is a nightmare of a place) before ending up in Hatagaya, where the man's friend was there to meet me and take me to the kendo dojo. It wasn't a big place, only 7 or 8 people came tonight, but all of them were really good. It was only a couple of hours practice, but I got the s*** beaten out of me. But this was not unexpected because of two important things - 1) Japanese people are better than most englishmen on their worst day. It's bread into them for crying out loud. And 2) I was the worst in my Uni club so I was expecting to get a lot of stuff wrong especially since it has been a while since my last practice (not counting the experience two weeks ago). But the people in there are very nice and friendly and helped me out a lot, so slowly but surely I'll hopefully get better, because I absolutely plan on going back. The previous dojo wasn't bad, its just this one is better (and a damn sight cheaper I may add).
