Today was a significant improvement from the rest of the week, mostly because this time I actually had something to do.
It didn't help my happiness much that my first job was to go over the english corrections I did yesterday for the pretty girl and make sure I'd done them properly (there go those points). But after that they let me get on with a large amount of video editing (much fun) some illustrator work (not as much fun but do-able) and trying to do lots of english translations as well (not fun because I had to constantly interpret the sempai who was having a hard time finding the energy to do much it seems. But he has a cold so he's forgiven).
And for lunch two new and exciting things happened. One was that two people from before (4 including the two girls they roped into coming as well) took me up to the roof of the building after buying bento lunches. This building has a fantastic view of Tokyo and it was a nice lunch with much chatting and joking. But the best bit was that the two guys said it was ok for me to think of them as friends.....I may not have sold that very well. Since I started work, I've wanted to make friends in the office but I haven't been sure that I've managed it because of a number of factors (mostly that they're all a little older than me and I don't have much confidence) but it was nice to have people say they were my friends. Honestly probably the highlight of my week.
Which was somewhat dampened when, half way back home, the special card the company had me buy broke in some way that I don't understand and I had to spend time being told I couldn't get it fixed today but would have to do it somewhere tomorrow. Ergh!!!
Although I did manage to do some proper cooking for supper and had a Big Bang Theory style meal - spaghetti with cut up sausages while watching Godzilla: Final Wars. Pretty decent end to the week I'd say.
