November 15th 2012 - Day 70

Both the sempai either side of me came in today with colds. I'm currently taking bets as to whether I catch one or not.
This morning was back to basics, and by basics, I mean revising Japanese. This was all I did this morning so skipping onto lunch where, because everyone was busy, I went out by myself and bought a bento lunch and took it back to the office.
The afternoon was a bit more interesting. Some people with a camera came around and took photos of the office, in particular of me at work with the sempai for their website (I think). Actually they only took photos of that, Not sure if it's because I'm the newest member or because I'm the only gaijin (a lot of what I do these days feels along those lines).
But I FINALLY got to do some video editing work at this point. Personally I find editing films an enjoyable and useful skill to have, so I was confident I'd be able to get it all done quickly. I didn't account for all the instructions being in Japanese, not to mention having to waste over half an hour trying to explain to the sempai what I wanted to do and him repeating the same instructions like I was a fool. Not very helpful.
At one point I did get to do some translation work for the pretty girl in the office, which hopefully gain me a few points there.
But honestly, today was just one massive headache. Not just because editing with unfamiliar software is a stressful time, but I spent the last hour and a half sitting at my desk trying to look busy while the rest of my 'team' had a team meeting with the laptop I needed to do the editing work. When I finally got fed up of waiting and went to ask what I should do next, they looked at me and basically said 'oh, you're still here? you should've gone ages ago'......F£$%&£@$£^@^*%()%Y^*O$£$%RI&MEIHTYI%^&£%&$Y%&*$^ERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
