Well today was certainly a change of pace. To be precise two change of paces - a morning of nearly passing out on the computer due to a combination of a bad nights sleep and stuck doing more Japanese revision. And in the afternoon a real spark of life. First they had me build a set of shelves over at the studio, then head all the way out to the Nitori furniture store I frequent in order to buy slippers because they needed some for the studio (the major custom in Japan is not to wear shoes inside a house but to wear slippers instead). Took me most of the afternoon but was an interesting break from the monotony. And of course and excuse to skip out on doing "real" work is always welcome.
Not much else of interest from the day. Lunch was interesting - with two of the older gents from the office and eating soba noodles with effectively sashimi and rice (no not sushi). And on the way home I took a tiny detour in order to buy the latest edition of shonen jump - this is the most famous weekly manga magazine in Japan, which has and still runs some of the most popular series such as Naruto and One Piece. This is the first time I've bought a copy here in Japan, simply because I didn't know what day weekly editions were released.
Only other bit of interest was seeing paramedics taking a woman out of the station on the way home. I don't know why, and I don't want to know: I don't need those sorts of nightmares.
