The one bad thing about Japan - Jet Lag. Jet Lag that persists for weeks on end. Jet Lag that wakes you up at 6 a.m. on a day when you have nothing to do and no reason to be up that early. THAT'S NOT FUNNY!!!!!
So as you may have guessed, I was up early today. And since I had no plans/energy to go anywhere interesting so I decided to do some R&R - Re-stocking and Re-cleaning of the apartment. This morning was all about getting things for the apartment - a process that never ends apparently. So I headed back to my faithful Nitori shop and bought a drying pole, some build-it-yourself shelving, a mattress and some extra bits and pieces. This stuff I then had to get back across a 40 minute journey, changing onto two trains and walking the rest of the way in the blazing heat. This all adds up to the most fun one can ever have with your trousers on.....no not really. It was not only difficult to do but also embarrassing to work around the strangers staring at me like I'm a lunatic. Which I am but I still don't like being stared at.
After lunch and getting the shelving set up, I spent some time cleaning the apartment then headed to the supermarket. Having spent the week working I've been able to work out the appropriate diet to match my timing = frozen microwave food. Shame really but not impossible to manage. And once I'd done that, I headed back out to stroll around Akihabara for a bit, buying a couple of minor things that are necessary (like a business card holder).
After getting back to the apartment, I spent more time cleaning - somehow there is a ton of dust and fluff in my apartment and I can't explain where it keeps coming from. I also spent pretty much all day doing laundry. I started at 9 and through a combination of washing, drying, hanging to dry and then refilling with a new load....I'm still not done yet. Although I did figure out how to use all the appliances in my apartment. Except the fan in the bathroom - that bugger is still turning on constantly.
