Halloween. Since arriving in September, I've seen tons of shops breaking out all kind of Halloween decorations. I guess it is much more popular here than in England.
Wish work was like that. This morning I had to sit through a meeting I didn't understand and get given photoshop jobs that I could do, but apparently the sempai in charge of me not only wasn't happy with the way I had done it, but also didn't have a suggestion on how to do it right. And he had a dig at me for yawning, of all things, seriously! Well another sempai explained how to do the job properly (for reasons that frustrate me and I can't be bothered to rant about on here) and that was that. But Lunch was a lot more fun today, went out with two people I had met before at my welcome party and we chatted about all kinds of film and Tokusatsu (live action special effects tv) stuff. And ate Tempura, which personally is my third favourite Japanese food (1 is katsudon, 2 is Pocky).
And the afternoon was back doing more tests that the sempai had found online. As I mentioned before I find doing these helpful, but not when he can't explain why I got it wrong. Once again, not trying to have a go, just letting off some steam.
Now many of you may be wondering why this post is later than normal. It's because this evening there was a big company meeting, with all sorts of valuable information for the rest of the year and I didn't understand any of it. And after that was done, we all had to go back to our desks, and move one space down the row. This would have been a simple Idea, had we not also had to completely unplug, move and replug in out computers as well. We even had to move our phones down as well. Worst part was I think i got screwed by the sempai and had to move his stuff while he was on the phone at the other end of the office. Thats not cool.
And by the time I had finished doing that, and waited to see if there was anything else I could do, they let me leave, and just finished a bento box supper.
Well its been one month since I started work. Has it all been fun - afraid not. Has it made me want to change my career path - don't be ridiculous. Would I have changed it, or done something different - Not on your life. I'm really glad I'm working here in Japan, and although I can't say I've enjoyed the work thoroughly, I can definitely say that I have met some fantastic people and learned a lot that I wouldn't have anywhere else.
