September 22nd 2012 - Day 16

After the adventures of yesterday, I decided to take it easy for the day. Though that doesn't mean I didn't get anything productive done.
I started by practicing my route to work. Nothing very exciting, but its always good to make sure you don't get lost before work starts. They tend to frown on that here. I then thought about checking out a bookstore I had been to before and thought was close, until I discovered it was a whole train ride away, and not worth it in the long run.
So I headed back to Akihabara, where I had to get some important business matters sorted. 1st I had to check out the event for my favourite anime, just to see if it had gotten any better (it hadn't). Then I headed to Yodobashi Camera. I think I may have mentioned this place before, but in case I hadn't, this is probably the biggest store in all of Akihabara, and that is saying a lot. Every floor has something different and exciting, from laptops and computers to toys and games. They even have golf lessons on the roof. No seriously, I haven't seen it myself yet, but thats what it says on the floor map. The staff are all incredibly friendly/helpful/have a good understanding of english, and I have been there several times already in order to get the electric appliances I needed for my apartment. Anyway I had to go here to get some its I'll need for work, like a new rucksack because mine decided to break the day I got off the airplane, theres an omen for you. I followed this up with a food shop. Like I said, today was productive, not very exciting.
That is until this afternoon, when whilst at home, a policeman came knocking at the door. After checking the necessary escape route and practicing 'I didn't do it' in Japanese, I spoke to him and discovered there had been a break in into a model car shop around the corner, and he was just there to hand out conformation forms (or something like that I think, I haven't filled it out yet, but thats what it looks like from what I can translate).
I'm afraid thats all on todays report, but don't get discouraged. I believe that if you can do at least one thing out of the ordinary every day, then your life will be far more interesting.
